Beeswax Products FAQ
At the heart of our sustainable collection is one of nature’s most remarkable materials — beeswax. Natural, renewable, and beautifully versatile, beeswax has been used for centuries for its purifying and preservative qualities. We love working with it not only because it’s gentle on the planet, but because it brings warmth, function, and a touch of timeless tradition to everyday living.
From our hand-poured beeswax candles to our reusable food wraps, each piece is designed to help you live more mindfully — reducing waste, embracing natural materials, and reconnecting with simple rituals that last. In this FAQ, you’ll find guidance on how to care for your beeswax products, tips to extend their life, and answers to your most asked questions.
Let’s celebrate the beauty of beeswax — and learn how to care for it, together.
What Are Beeswax Wraps?
Our reusable beeswax wraps are made from 100% cotton fabric infused with food-grade beeswax, making them naturally water-resistant and antibacterial. This helps keep food fresh while reducing the risk of contamination—an eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic wrap.
Breathable yet protective, beeswax wraps are perfect for covering or wrapping a variety of foods, including cheese, fruits, vegetables, bread, and cakes. They’re also great for wrapping sandwiches or even keeping your soap bar separate from toiletries when traveling. However, they are not recommended for raw meat or fish, as they cannot be washed at high temperatures.
How to Use Your Beeswax Wraps
Simply wrap your food directly or use the wrap to cover a container. The warmth of your hands will soften the wax, allowing you to mold it securely around the item for a snug seal.
How do you clean and look after your wraps?
Wash your wraps in cool water with a natural dish soap—hot water can melt the wax. Air dry, then roll or fold them for storage, keeping them away from direct heat and sunlight.
How do you refresh your wraps?
Over time, wraps may lose their stickiness, but they can be easily revived using our Replenish Bars:
- Place the wrap on baking parchment in the oven at the lowest temperature for a couple of minutes.
- Alternatively, iron it between parchment paper to re-melt the wax evenly.
- Once melted, wave the wrap to cool—it will dry quickly and regain its flexibility.
- If the wax looks sparse, grate some additional wax from a Replenish Bar before heating.
With proper care, beeswax wraps can last 8–12 months or more, making them a simple yet impactful way to reduce plastic waste! Once your wraps have reached the end of their life, simply cut them into small pieces and add them to your compost or repurpose them as natural firelighters.
Beeswax Candles: Clean, Natural & Toxin-Free
In addition to wraps, our beeswax is also used to craft beautifully natural candles. Unlike paraffin candles, beeswax burns cleanly, emitting no toxins or harmful chemicals—just a warm, honeyed scent and a gentle, golden glow. With a longer burn time and air-purifying properties, our beeswax candles offer a sustainable and soothing way to light up any space.
